I am unabashedly promoting the Algonquin LITH Interfaith Food Pantry charity event because the local food pantry is in need. They have built a better facility to house the donations of food for the growing number of community members in need. How often do you get to assist in making your community better and in such a fun and unique way?
The idea came from Carol Platt. (heart you Carol) She raised her hand, called in a few folks last year to come up with the very successful first Bloomin Bunco. They raised almost $10,000 but had to split the pot with another charity. This year the other charity chose not to participate.
There’s an outstanding raffle that is sure to make you drool. One of my Miss Mary totes will again be in the raffle. THAT alone should help you make up your mind. I’ve attached a picture of the fabric and will be assembling soon. It was a straw poll of my friends on what colors should be used: Tangerine Orange and Turquoise.
Last year was so successful that they’re having Bloomin Bunco II. Everyone I know that went did so because they knew the money was returning to those in need who live here. No one said “no”. Not even the School District.
In January and February the pantry served 598 clients. THAT’S A LOT OF FAMILIES IN NEED.
I’ve attached the pdf to register here: Bunco Bloomin Bunco Benefit Flyer 2012 (1). Your check and the registration are due APRIL 3rd to Carol Platt, 561 Saratoga Circle, Algonquin, IL 60102. Many thanks to Community Unit School District 300 for the use of Neubert Elementary (the school my children attended back in the day).
We come together when we need to support each other. Your evening of fun will make a difference to those whom you may never know but we consider your neighbors. If you can’t make it, please consider making a donation to the www.alith-foodpantry.org or donating an item for the raffle. You can contact Carol at email@example.com if you have an item for the raffle. We so appreciate whatever you can do.
