Gardening · Miss Mary

Spring is pushing through.

It’s everywhere.  Spring.  The garden shops at the big box stores are gearing up with seeds, bushes and trees, cinder block shelving outdoors, and you can just smell it in the air.

March came in like a lion this year with six inches of snow in the northwest suburbs of Chicago but within days the snow is all but gone and we are left with 60° days.

I know Spring has arrived because my backyard comes alive with earth animals, namely squirrels.  You can tell in this picture that no single bird could physically carry this branch up to the birdhouse unless it was a bald eagle.  It’s hanging from twine of some type.

Also, you can now see my naked garden.  By the end of the month you’ll see the Virginia Blue Bells and Forget me nots.  Just had to share.
