My very creative sister-in-law Sue Abraham just started her own quilting blog: PatchesPrints.wordpress.com . She’s been a long time quilter who makes absolutely gorgeous quilts. She used to own a quilt shop where she conducted many classes from beginners to the best of the best. She has devoted much of her time to ConKer Cancer which makes pillow cases for children and others in the hospital. She is the mother of 4, grandma of 4, and dog-mom of one. Married to fun loving Tom.
Sue also devotes her time to PurpleStride headed up by the Pancreatic Cancer Network – her devotion to this event is that she is coming up on her fifth year of being cancer free which was almost unheard of with this disease. It was a long haul for Sue. I believe it was her loving family that helped to give her strength through her very difficult ordeal.
I talk a lot about family traditions. For every niece and nephew that graduates Sue makes a lap quilt for their high school graduation. Both my kids have been the recipients of her beautiful work and use them faithfully. Pictured to the left is Chrissy’s quilt and to the right is the label Sue placed on the back.
When I say Sue LOVES the musical and all things having to do with Wicked, I am not kidding. At last count I believe she has seen it 17 times all across the country and maybe Canada.
Sue is shown here with my daughter Chrissy on one of her recent trips to Chicago with her daughter, Michelle to see Wicked. The picture was taken at Petterino’s one of my very favorite places in Chicago for Italian food. It’s also known as the Judge’s restaurant of choice.
Sue, welcome to your NEW creative side.
