We’re on a lean kick in our home. Trying to cut back on the carbs and fat while beefing up the exercise every chance we get. Ground turkey, like the beast it came from, does not have a good flavor so you have to help it along. There’s really hardly any fat to turkey making it near impossible to make is stick together. We found these burgers were actually pretty good.
Grilled Turkey Burgers
- 1 pound ground Turkey
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 1 shallot, finely chopped
- 3 Tablespoons parsley, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon horseradish
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- ¼ cup egg substitute
Chop all your fresh ingredients. Add everything else. With your hands mix the turkey mixture. Form four patties. It’s going to be a little wet but it holds on the grill. If you find that it is too wet, just add a small amount of bread crumbs. (Doesn’t take much.)
Grill the burgers about 6 minutes to each side or till done. Use a whole wheat bun; add lettuce and tomato and you have a great light summer meal.
